From what you wrote, I don't see that you understand the purpose of the filibuster. If laws can be made and overturned by simple majority vote, then our entire political system becomes unstable. Every time one party comes to power, they would undo the legislation of the previous Congress, and our laws would change constantly. We would be living on the political equivalent of a teeter totter.
The filibuster ensures at least some support from the minority, and it makes it very hard for laws created with bi-partisan support from being overturned. That's not a bug, it's a feature.
Since you are writing this article now, I can safely assume you are a Democrat who would like to see the Democratic agenda enacted. Ask yourself how you would have felt in 2016 when Republicans controlled both houses of Congress and the Presidency. Without the filibuster protecting legislation previously passed by Democrats, in 2016, the Republicans would have gutted the Affordable Care Act, repealed Social Security, stacked the federal courts with conservative judges (worse than they already did), eliminated protections for labor, whistleblowers, repealed all gun control laws, closed our borders, and on and on. The only thing that saved any of those items is not popularity or fear of losing the next election. The only thing that spared that legislation is the filibuster.
Consider that when you enthusiastically endorse repealing the filibuster.
