I find your writing and worldview interesting, largely because i completely disagree with nearly everything you write. I can see why you and many like you feel like the world is in decline, not because it actually is, but because increasing numbers of people reject your worldview in its entirety, like I do.
The fastest shrinking group of people in the United States is evangelical christians. People are leaving the church faster than parents can birth new ones, and even the young are abandoning the church's teachings. I would say it's sad, but it's only sad for you and people who believe as you do because the rest of us think it's long overdue.
As for this post, blaming welfare recipients for draining government resources is a very old Republican trope. I thought it died out in the 1990s when welfare went away, but it's just morped to take a new form. The irony is that it's merely a distraction, another Republican scapegoat. If you really want to look at the "makers and takers" consider that crony capitalists who've built monopolies that exploit their workers are the "takers", not the welfare queens or immigrants they try to distract us with.
The sad reality is that you will continue to lament the decline in American culture because the demise of your worldview will continue unabated. There will be no resurgence of evangelical Christianity, no ascendency, just a continued decline into cultural irrelevance.
