I had to read this twice to make sure it wasn’t brilliant political satire. It’s hysterical if you read it that way. As I tried to take it seriously, the distorted lens of partisanship hurt my eyes, and I had to suppress my gag reflex. As I read my mind kept interrupting with “you can’t be serious”. My guess is that the author has a virtuous circle of acquaintances who listen to this nonsense and nod in agreement. It must be shocking to step out of that bubble where people will point out that the opinions expressed are complete and utter bullshit. I was particularly amused by the “asshole” theory of strong leadership. Most people recognize that Trump’s bluster is a cover for his glaring weakness, not a sign of strength. When Trump was president, I was embarrassed to be an American because he represents none of the good qualities I associate with good people and real Americans.
