I have always been troubled by the heavy-handed censorship of the political right that relies on government intervention. The recent Florida book bans are a classic example.

However, the political left has taken this to a new level with cancel culture and Me Too. They bypass the government for the most part and attempt to control people's thoughts and actions directly through intimidation to impose self-censorship on everyone.

Sadly, everyone who engages in censorship, whether it be public or private, convinces themselves they are fighting a righteous battle. They decry the censorship of the other side while embracing their own.
