I work in research and design and spend most of my time in AutoCAD. My productivity rose significantly when I started working remote. I now have a deal with my employer where I am 100% remote, and we both benefit from the arrangement. Nearly all the arguments against remote work come down to poor or lazy management. There’s also an element of management trying to preserve their jobs and worth. A whole layer of redundant managers are probably going to be eliminated from the move to remote. Shitty managers that feel the need to lord over people will be the first to go.
