I'm not as pessimistic as you are. Your focus on having your cadre win is part of the problem. Neither side can win this war by destroying the other.

I invite you to watch the old 80's movie War Games. The central lesson of that film is the futility of war. As long as our politics use warfare as the model for conflict resolution, the conflict will never end.

This proposal would essentially be a vote to end the war. Return to principles we hold dear. That resonates with people.

Have more faith in your fellow man, even those evil Republicans. Because if we don't, we will have perpetual warfare until we are destroyed as a country.
