Imagine how he would feel if they discovered a mistranslation. What if every baptism ever performed since the Bible’s first translation was invalid? What if they retroactively discovered that they’ve been sentencing people to hell for hundreds if not thousands of years? Would that mean that the church was actually a barrier to get into heaven and was instead sentencing people to eternal damnation? It sounds like the safer course of action would be to not go to church at all.
