That's how everyone who does not accept the evangelical world view feels after one of these conversations. It's why their worldview is so unappealing and the number of adherents is dropping sharply.

When I was a teenager, I used to live in the Bible Belt, and I heard this many times. At the time, I didn't mind telling people I thought they were laughably full of shit. I wanted them to leave the encounter outraged so that I didn't have to. I liked seeing if I could get their heads to explode, and I used to take pleasure in their discomfort. Now, I just avoid those encounters entirely. I even listen patiently to Jehovah Witnesses at the door, though I find them equally full of shit. I consider it penance for the way I used to blast evangelicals in my youth.
