The media’s ongoing fear mongering over Democratic losses in the mid-terms has always been a about motivating Democrats to turn out and prevent that outcome from occurring. I think the media looked in the mirror when Trump won and realized their pronouncements of Hillary’s victory suppressed the vote and caused her loss. If Democratic voters had believed Trump had a chance in 2016, they would have turned out to prevent that from happening. Instead, many didn’t bother voting, and Trump won.
