The root of the problem is that these people are a massive problem for everyone else.

Religious witnessing needs a "don't ask, don't tell" policy. If a Christian's behavior so impresses someone that they inquire about how they do it, then they were asked, and their witnessing is appropriate. If nobody asks, then witnessing is an impingement on our right to be left alone. Christians don't seem to get this, as evidenced by the many videos and stories of obnoxious Christians sermonizing to people who just want to be left alone.
