There probably is no definition or result you will find satisfying. Subjective experience is personal, and by its nature can't be shared or clearly defined. It can't be verified in any other beings. Some have even tried to turn that into a philosophy in it's own right. Solipsism is the belief that says that I can only be certain that I have subjective experience, so I will assume nobody else does. I think it's safer to say that every human does, and I don't think it's a stretch to assume most living creates have subjective experience to some degree. Where it's a harder leap is when we try to extrapolate our subject experience to machines or simulations. I share no common experience with a machine. I have no basis for concluding they have subjective experience beyond the simulation of it they exhibit.
