This article was disappointing. I hoped that the author would provide substantive counter-arguments, but this piece was one long personal attack offered for no reason other than the author disagrees with George Will.

"All Will and his disaffected intellectual peers can offer is more of the same regurgitated moralizing about the excesses of the left, even as they ignore the decrepitude and obsolescence of their brand of conservatism staring them in the face."

This article is no different, only the sides of the political spectrum are changed. In fact, this article could be summed up by changing three words:

"All WEST and his disaffected intellectual peers can offer is more of the same regurgitated moralizing about the excesses of the RIGHT, even as they ignore the decrepitude and obsolescence of their brand of LIBERALISM staring them in the face."

If the author wants to be the voice of intellectual liberalism, then he needs to stop writing crap like this. Personal attacks on other's views are not advancing the cause, at least not among those looking for intellectual analysis, factual counter-arguments, or any position more coherent than "that guy is bad."
