Your response is full of false dichotomies and a straw-man arguments. It's difficult to take seriously.

Scientists put forth different and sometimes radical theories all the time. They subject themselves to the scrutiny of the scientific community, and sometimes they upend orthodoxy. That's actually how science advances. Einstein put for radical ideas, and when these ideas were studied and tested using the scientific method, they proved more accurate than the previous orthodoxy and his ideas were accepted. That's how science works. Your suggestion that this was fought by the establishment is not accurate. It was scrutinized and accepted by the establishment after their objections were upended by observation and facts.

What climate deniers do is completely different. They are clinging to a theory that isn't supported by evidence or even rational conjecture. They are going outside the procedure of the scientific communities, not because their ideas are radical but because their ideas have been tested, evaluated, and thoroughly debunked. They are at a dead end within science because their theories are nonsense. Real scientists abandon their theories when proven to be incorrect.

They are free to speak their minds all they want, which is why they get paid gigs for polluters and people who benefit from their discredited science. They had the opportunity to speak freely within the confines of the rules of scientific progress, and they failed. To continue to allow them to spout nonsense merely distracts from doing real science by those continuing to work within the system.
